Surrender A Pet

We understand surrendering your pet can be difficult, and we are here to make the transfer as simple as possible for you and your beloved pet. Regardless of the reasoning for the surrender, we are here for you and your pet.

All of the information submitted in the application will be verified, including your information, the pet's information, and the pet's behavior and temperament through testing prior to the surrender. Honesty in the surrender application is key to a seamless transfer. Discrepancies may result in the refusal of the pet. Most pets will be accepted despite some behavioral problems.

Veterinary records may be requested. Pets will be scanned for microchips, and microchips must be registered to the current owner, who is surrendering the pet. If not, the transfer process may be slowed until the owner can be verified. The owner of the animal must be over the age of 18.

Currently we are working with very limited space, causing slowed surrender placement. We are working as hard as possible to place as many surrenders as we can. Some surrenders are taking several months to get to, please keep this in mind, and continue trying to find a home for your pet on your own.

Rehoming Recommendations

Speak to friends and family, contact the facility you got the pet from, and post on social media.

For most areas, there are several pet rehoming groups that are free to join. B/CS has 3 local rehoming pages.

Please, fill out a different application for each surrendered pet
